PocketDyno™ transforms your iPhone or iPod Touch into an automotive performance meter. With it you can measure your vehicle's horsepower, your 0-60 and quarter mile time and much more all for the price of a hamburger and fries.
Q. How accurate is PocketDyno™?
There will always be some variation in each device and even between calibrations but we tested PocketDyno™ at a major regulation dragstrip and we are pretty confident in our accuracy. We'll let the results speak for themselves.
Q. How do I get PocketDyno™?
PocketDyno™ is available for the iPhone and iPod Touch through Apple's App Store.
Q. What devices are supported by PocketDyno™?
PocketDyno™ will run on an iPod Touch, iPhone, or iPhone 3G running the 2.0 firmware or later.
Q. Does PocketDyno™ support metric?
PocketDyno™ uses the locale settings in iPhone/iPod Touch to determine whether to use imperial units or metric units.
Q. What if I saved a result using imperial units but I want to view the results in metric units?
Not to worry, PocketDyno™ stores it's results in metric and imperial units so you can freely switch between them. You can change the units by locating "Settings->General->International->Region Format" on your iPhone or iPod Touch.
Q. I am getting an error when I try to calibrate what is going on?
Most iPhone's and iPod's work without any problems, but there are a small number of devices whose accelerometers are malfunctioning. An error message during the calibration indicates a gross error in your devices accelerometer (anything greater than 35% off). PocketDyno is very sensitive to the accuracy of the acclerometer and anything off by this much would likely result in inaccurate results anyway. However there is still hope as we are working on a way to calibrate the small number of devices with this issue..
Q. I am having problems calibrating, how do I get it working?
Most iPhone's and iPod's work without any problems, but there are a small number of devices whose accelerometers are slightly off center or malfunctioning completely. The first thing to try is to slowly rotate the device slightly off center from the arrow until you see "Sampling..." then hold it still. Repeat this for each direction. If the problem persists please Contact Us.
